How to prepare for the OMIS 259 Final Exam:  Questions and Answers

Q.  Should I do the MyITLab exercises again?  Do I need to look over the videos, PowerPoint slides and class notes and review my notes on them?  Do I need to re-read the ebooks?

A.  Yes, yes, yes, and yes.  If you want an “A” or a “B” in OMIS 259, it will require some work.  Successful students in the past have done the MyITLab exercises more than once, have re-read the eBook chapters, have taken good notes on the assignments and exercises, and have reviewed those notes prior to the exam.

Q.  What’s the most important thing for me to study?

A.  ** If I only had two hours to study for the OMIS 2591 Final Exam, I would go through the 7 quizzes from this semester.  I would carefully look them over to make sure I understood the concepts being covered.

Here’s how to see the quizzes you took this semester in Blackboard:

The Final Exam is a 100 question multiple choice test (your quizzes have been 25 questions, so it’s just a long quiz).  I guarantee at least 20 questions out of the 100 cumulative questions on the Final Exam will be lifted from these 7 quizzes.  Probably more.  The final exam will be like a long quiz, except you will have seen many of the questions before, and the new questions will still come from the same topic areas we’ve covered this semester.

Q.  What are the “topic areas” we’ve covered this semester?

A.  See top of page.  Beyond that, your best bet is to just look at our online schedule.  Having said that, it’s really not that bad.  You have 6 MyITLab chapters on Excel, and 4 MyITlab chapters on Access.  These are all still available for you on MyITLab.  Additionally, you had the web page exercise.
