Here are the best ways to study for the OMIS 351 quizzes:

1) Come to class and take notes.

2) Make sure you can do the Virtual Case (VC) assignments on your own.

3) Go to the Grades link on our class web site to see that NIUResponse questions you have had so far are posted, along with their answers, so you can see what you missed and what the correct answer was, and hopefully begin to understand why you missed that sort of question. You will notice that most quizzes have at least one question from NIUResponse (usually more than one).

4) Read the text at least once.

5) Use the “Get Stuff Link” on our course website to your advantage. In particular, see these two items at the bottom:

To get Quiz feedback in Blackboard, click on a Quiz in Blackboard after it’s due date is past, and you can see all of your answers along with the correct answers.

Here are 21 Unit questions (3 each), at least 10 of which are guaranteed to be on Final Exam (and maybe some quizzes!)

6) Google “Downing OMIS 351 Quiz #” to see some questions former students have posted. I cannot guarantee the quality of these questions, but my experience is they’re at least decent. Since this information is publicly available on the Web, I do NOT consider this cheating. Please be aware though that I do sometimes change the content of old questions. So if you use this method to study, STUDY THE CONCEPTS being covered rather than memorizing questions/answers (that will NOT work).
